AIKEN, SC – EDWARD ALEXIS “LEX” HOGLE, 94, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at NHC Health Care, North Augusta, SC. A native of Pittsford, NY, Lex was a son of the late Milton Ward and Jesse Montgomery Hogle. He was a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and retired at the rank of Major. Lex lived most of his life in upstate New York. He was first married to the late Mildred S. R. Hogle and then to the late Norma Hogle. He was very active in his community volunteering with the Brighton NY Fire Dept., was a founding member of the Brighton and Pittsford Ambulance Service, volunteered at Strong Memorial Hospital and the New York Thruway Welcome Center. He was a member of HAG (Historical Aircraft Group) in Geneseo, NY and worked restoring military aircraft. Survivors include two daughters, Lonnie Alexis “Lexie” Russell (Gary), Aiken, SC and Tamara Ann Myslyk (Robert), DeFuniak Springs, FL; a step-son, Paul Treadwell (Jody), Rochester, NY; 3 grandchildren, Erik Sean Uhl (Victoria), Todd Kenneth Uhl (Mechelle) and Jessica Margaret Russell (Stacey Waugh); 3 step-granddaughters, Tammy Russell, Chelsea Bittner Treadwell, Blake Delaney; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaila M. B. Uhl, Owen Patrick Uhl and Sebastian Victor Uhl; 1 step great-grandchild, Liesl Bittner Regier. Memorial services are being planned for August in Aiken, SC and July in Rochester, NY.
