AIKEN - Early Sunday morning on June 30, 2013 at the Azalea Woods Nursing Facility God's Death Angel came to escort Mrs. Eunice Peterson Williams Home.
Eunice was born in Aiken County South Carolina to Benjamin Franklin Peterson and Amanda Adams Peterson on January 26, 1918 as their third bundle of joy. She attended the Aiken County
Schools.
At the young age of 19 years old, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Isadore Williams on December 24, 1937. To this union eight sons and four daughters were born all in Aiken County.
She joined the Ocean Grove Baptist Church while very young. After her marriage she united with the Chalk Hill Baptist Church with her husband and served there until the death of her husband. Many years they lived in the Wagener New Holland. After the death of her husband she relocated to Aiken, South Carolina.
Eunice, known as Ms.Monk, was a strong woman. Kind -hearted and humble always. Her love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends was unconditional. Something was always cooking in her kitchen to not only feed her yard full of grandchildren but many children from the neighborhood could also be found in grandma's yard, all treated the same, with love.
She was preceded in death by two sons Willie and Larry. Two daughters Mae and Eunice.
Left to cherish her memories are two daughters: Rosa Lee Williams Ross, Augusta, Ga. Carrie Williams Ramsey, Aiken, SC. Six sons: Sylvester (Doris) Williams, Jamaica, NY, Benjamin Williams, Aiken, SC, Isadore Williams Jr. Conway, SC, Billy (Juanita) Williams, Myrtle Beach, SC, Bobby Williams, Aiken, SC, Ruben (Betty) Williams, Raeford, NC. Two stepdaughters: Ruby Richarson, Brooklyn, NY, Peggy L. Williams, Wagener, SC. One stepson: Joe (Lucy) Salley, South Ozone Park, NY. Daughter- in- law: Martha E. Williams, Graniteville, SC. One son-in-law: Albert R. Ramsey, Aiken, SC. Four sisters-in-law: Willie Mae Peterson, Great Neck, NY, Hattie Simmons, Jamaica, NY, Ruby Lee Quattlebaum, Landover, Md, Dorothy Peterson, Aiken, SC. Five generations of grandchildren, great grandchildren......, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Shellhouse Funeral Home. A homegoing service will be held at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, 924 Hayne Ave., Aiken, SC Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Eugene Guyton officiating. Interment will follow in Gunter-Swedenburg Cemetery, Wagener, SC. RE-PAST will be held at the River of Life Church, 1411 York St. NE, Aiken, SC.
