AIKEN, SC - CHARLES FRANK GONSHOROWSKI, 68, beloved husband of Rebecca Jean Gonshorowski, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Greenbush, MN, he was the son of Peter Paul and Gladys Irene Dann Gonshorowski. He was a descendent of one of the pioneering families of Minnesota. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and then in Camp Casey DMZ zone in Korea. He had made Aiken County his home since 1973. Charles was a machinist by trade and was an avid carpenter and beekeeper.
Survivors include his wife Rebecca; a daughter, Tammy Horton (Jim Noone), Oakwood Community; three sons, David Gonshorowski, Pete Gonshorowski and Adam Gonshorowski, all of Aiken; nine grandchildren, Tristen Stokes (Kyle), Robbie Horton, Anna Horton, Zen Gonshorowski, Sarah-Beth Gonshorowski, Abigail Gonshorowski, David Thomas Gonshorowski, Emily Gonshorowski and Harmony Gonshorowski; three sisters, Mary Janson (Arvid), Warroad, MN, Jean Hulett (Larry), Fargo, ND and Susan Hogsett (Dennis) Moorhead, MN; mother-in-law, Josie Newman, Williamston, MI; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Finley (Norm), WA and Kate Bonnelle Roberts (Robin), MI and his beloved Chihuahuas, Bella and Sweet Pea.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be private.
