Irene "Renie" Shuford Persons

AIKEN, SC - IRENE "RENIE" SHUFORD PERSONS, 90, widow of Delton C. Persons, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Anchor Health and Rehabilitation in Aiken. A native of Georgetown, SC, Mrs. Persons was a daughter of the late Robert Pou and Edna Butler Shuford. She was a homemaker and lived in Sandusky, OH over 50 years before moving to Albemarle, NC 17 years ago. She had lived in Aiken since December 2012. Renie was former president of the Sandusky Concert Association. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albemarle and was a member of the choir. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Debra Persons, Aiken, SC; daughter-in-law, Lauren Persons, Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Aaron Persons and Jamie Persons, both of Chapel Hill, NC and Logan Persons, Cleveland, OH and two sisters, Anne Shuford Moore and Betty Shuford Roberson, both of Georgetown, SC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of St. John's United Methodist Church with The Revs. Dr. George K. Howle and Dr. Ray Litts officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Ward Hall.
