AIKEN, SC– Bryce Stuart Spears, 72, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at MCG. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Holly Shoaf-O’kula officating. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie King (Sally) Spears; daughter, Sue Anne (Jon) Beym of North Augusta, SC; son, Johnny (Erin) Spears of Aiken, SC; his sisters, Bessie Black of Zephyrhills, FL, Florence Canfield of Cuba, NY, Wilda Johnson of Turtle Pointe, PA, and Emma Mehlam of Olean, NY; brothers, Bruce Spears of Bells, TX and Donald Loomis of San Antonia, TX; grandchildren, Brendan Spears, Mary Spears, Maggie Spears, Sean Spears, Noah Beym, Molly Beym. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Neenan Spears Loomis; father, Bruce Spears; and brother, Hugh Spears. Mr. Spears was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired at the age of 55 and spent his time hunting, fishing and gardening. He truly loved nature. He was called Pap. He was a customer Engineer for IBM. Mr. Spears also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
