Angeline Little Hughes

AIKEN – Mrs. Angeline Codrington Little Hughes, 81, died Monday, July 15, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Millbrook Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Chris Masters officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Pallbearers will be Daniel Kersbergen, Connor Grantham, Michael Kurilla, Alex Franklin, Daryl Grantham and Jimmy Kurilla. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lydia Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hughes was born in Gaffney, SC, a daughter of the late Ecford and Florence Elsie Flanagan Little. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1953, and taught school in the Aiken County school system. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, the Ladies Whittlers, the Rainbow Choir and the Lydia Sunday School Class. She is survived by her three daughters, Debra H. (Johnny) Kurilla, N. Augusta, SC, Florence H. Franklin, Aiken, Angela H. (Steve) Hales, Aiken; five grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Kersbergen, John Alexander Franklin, John Michael Kurilla, Jr., John Connor Grantham and Dara Shaye Hales; two great grandchildren, Brynn E. Kersbergen and Tommy Kurilla; and a brother, Ecford Little, St. Matthews, NC. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Paula Hunter and Carolyn Simmons with Day Break, and the staff of United Hospice.
