AIKEN – Mr. Francis James Bradley, 86, beloved husband of Kathryn Wood “Nookie” Bradley, died Friday, July 27, 2013 at his home. The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Father Gregory Wilson celebrant. Final prayers, commendations and military honors will follow at historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Sewell, Francis Bradley, III, Patrick Bradley, Creighton Hentz, Thomas Rice and Scott Ferguson. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Malony and James Bell. Born in Elmont, NY to the late Michael and Catherine Huss Bradley, Mr. Bradley returned and retired to Aiken in 2002. He was an assistant trainer with Brookemeade, Greentree, and McKinsley Miller Stables. He also was the owner of the Canada Dry Distributorship. Mr. Bradley was a docent at the Aiken Thoroughbred Hall of Fame and a Senior Golfer at Highland Park Golf Course. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bradley is survived by a son, Francis James (Laura Jean) Bradley, Jr., Malverne, NY, grandchildren; Anastasia “Stacie” (Richard) Sewell, Francis (Liz) Bradley, III, Patrick (Sophie) Bradley, great grandchildren; Jean Marie Armellino, Andrew Cancel and Connor Bradley. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Michael “Jack” Bradley who died on July 21, 2013.
