Floy Edna Munday McCarty Rankin

Batesburg, SC _ Mrs. Floy Edna Munday McCarty Rankin, 95, died Sunday, July 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Bobby Smith and the Reverend Greg Daniels officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM in the Modoc Baptist Church Cemetery, Modoc, SC. Pallbearers will be Mark McCarty, Billy McCarty, Brian McCarty, Bruce McCarty, Luis Reyes, II and Zack Rodgers. Mrs. Rankin was born in Concord, NC, a daughter of the late Floyd Daniel and Myrtle Harris Munday. She had been a resident of the Batesburg area for over 30 years, a member of Modoc Baptist Church and a member of the DAR. She was loving, caring, loyal and committed to those she loved. Survivors include her daughter, Myrtle (Bobby) Parks, San Antonio, TX; three sons, Floyd (Laverne) McCarty, Springfield, SC, Billy Gene (Dorothy) McCarty, Branchville, SC, Gerald (Linda) McCarty, Ridge Spring, SC; 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; a cousin, Earl Mixon. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Albert McCarty, second husband William H. Rankin, and a grandson Edward “Ted” Parks.
