AIKEN, SC- Mr. Charles Alan May, 52, beloved husband of Pamela Gail Nix May, died Monday, July 29, 2013. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 1, at 11:00 AM at the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Martha Vinson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Leonard, Gerald Merritt, Harry Nix, David, Nix, Duane Beck, Charlie Miller, Bill Wicker and Glen Campbell. Mr. May, a life long resident of Aiken, was the son of the late Charles S. and Judith Hunnicutt May. He worked here in Aiken as a landscaper. Alan was a loving husband and devoted father. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Hannah Grace May, Aiken; Son, Porter Sullivan May, Aiken; Stepdaughter, Heather Danielle Clark, Aiken; Stepson, Christopher Brian (Kristin) Clark, Aiken; and a step granddaughter, Adeline Raleigh Clark. The family would like to thank special friends, Michelle Hudgins, Charlie Miller, Duane Beck, Harry Nix and all of the other family and friends for being with them during this difficult time.
