Dorothy Fields Reynolds

AIKEN – Mrs. Dorothy Fields Reynolds, 86, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Aiken Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Gerald Bledsoe officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Dixon, David Dixon and Spence Cumming. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Aiken, a daughter of the late Otis and Ruby Fields. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, and spent much of her time caring for her granddaughter, Claudette Kimberly Bledsoe, who attended Tri-Development. She was a “Queen Bee” for the US Navy’s 64th Battalion during WWII. She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Shaw Reynolds; granddaughter, Claudette Kimberly Bledsoe; and sister, Gloria Griffin. She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn (Ramson) Bledsoe, Summerton, SC, Patricia (Jerry) Barrett, Aiken; grandchildren, Beth (Spence) Cumming, Gina (Chris) Waites, David Dixon, Eric (Ashleigh) Dixon; great grandchildren, Justin Waites, Davis R. Waites, Brady Waites, Olivia Dixon, Landyn Cumming, Clara Dixon; step grandchildren, Mary Ann Couvillon, Sara (Jeff) Mitchell, Louise (Travis) Murray, Jerold (Danielle) Barrett, Katie (Sean) Burkette, Andy (Stacie) Barrett; numerous step great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri Development Center, P.O. Box 698, Aiken, SC 29802.
