AIKEN - Margaret Ann "Bouncie" Smith Lista entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2013 . "Bouncie" was born on July 29,1929 (84). She grew up in Ridgeland, South Carolina. She was a loving wife and mother. She attended Anderson College, graduated from Furman University, and received a Masters in Education from Winthrop University. She was the loving wife of the late Joe Lista. She is preceded in death by Thomas Ruth Baldwin (sister), Eunice Ulmer Smith (mother), Thomas Mazyck Smith (father), Andrew N. Watson, son-in-law and Patty Bealer (niece). She is survived by two sons Joel C. (Tracie) Lista, Charleston, Todd H. (Wanda) Lista, Aiken; a daughter Hollie L. Watson, Charleston; grandchildren, J. Caroline Lista (17), Elizabeth C. Lista (13), Sam M. Lista (14), Andrew N. Watson, Jr. (21), J. Paul Watson (17); brother-in- law Alfred P. Lista; nephews Gene Baldwin, Thomas Baldwin, Paul T. Lista; nieces Sherri B. Heinley, LuAnne Aschettino, Nancy Policastiro; and several great and great-great grand-nieces and nephews. She was a retired schoolteacher and taught home economics at the following schools: Aiken High, Freedman Vocational School and was an elementary teacher at St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic School. She was an active member of Aiken First Baptist Church since 1963 and enjoyed participating in church activities and circle groups. She was a past president and member of the Pilot Club which lead the campaign for Aiken to be named "Aiken an All American City”. She was a longstanding member and officer of the Suburban Garden Club. She was also a founding member and was honored by the American Associate University Women. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Aiken. The family will receive friends and viewing at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rudy Cook, Nick Devich, Gene Baldwin, Tom Baldwin, Richard Allewelt, Andrew N. Watson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Lista and J. Paul Watson. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802. Friends may call on the family at the home of Todd and Wanda Lista, 6 Belair Terrace.
