Grady Sizemore, Sr.

GRADY SIZEMORE, SR - AIKEN, SC, 86, beloved husband of Ruby Mundy, died Friday, September 13, 2013 at his residence. A 7th generation native of Aiken, Mr. Sizemore was a son of the late Powell and Cassie Pennington Sizemore. He served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II. He was a brick mason and loved farming. Mr. Sizemore retired from the maintenance department of the Aiken County School District. He was a member and former deacon of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a fine example of a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his spouse, Ruby Mundy Sizemore; 2 daughters, Patricia Ann Cato of Aiken and Vivian Sue Meador (Steve) of Aiken; 2 sons, Grady Sizemore, Jr. (Sally) of Jackson and Larry Edward Sizemore of Aiken; 9 grandchildren, Grady Sizemore, Michael Sizemore, Patty Jimenez, Melanie Jo James, Stephanie Sue Meador, Tiffany Avis Stapleton, Billy Foster, Joey Foster and Jenny Foster; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 PM at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend Robert Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 PM. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keaton Gilmer, Michael Sizemore, Pat Alexander, Robert Franklin, Jason Stapleton and Tommy Clark.
