WAGENER, SC - BOBBY WAYNE SMITH, 54, beloved husband of Janet Lee Smith, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Salley, SC, Bobby was a son of Catherine Bolin Smith and the late Thomas Cellus Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and was retired from Hubbell Power Systems. Bobby was a member and former deacon of Couchton Baptist Church. He was a mason and will be remembered for his wonderful smile and big heart. He will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Janet; mother, Catherine Smith, Wagener; daughter, April Smith Watkins (Daniel), Graniteville; grandchildren, Cyndi Watkins, Lyndi Watkins and two special grandchildren, McKenley Smith, and Mendi Watkins that he raised and loved as his own; 4 sisters, Debra Whisenant (Rob), Aiken, Corrie Riddle (Roddy), Leesville, Elaine Still (Floyd), Williston, Linda Wood (Randy), Aiken; brother, Steve Smith (Joyce), Aiken; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jon W. and Jean Smith, Salley. Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Addison Wayne Smith and his father. Friends may call on the family at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Joyce Smith. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Couchton Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Couchton Baptist Church with The Rev. Brian Adkison officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will Steve Smith, Randy Jackson, Lance Danco, Ricky Hoover, Ernie Youngblood, and Donnie Moulton. Honorary Pallbearers will brothers- in- law and his nephews.
