Ann Boyd

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - ANN DONNAN SCOTT BOYD, 88, widow of Hugh James Boyd, Sr., died Sunday the 22nd of September 2013 at National Health Care in North Augusta. A native of Whitmire, SC, Mrs. Boyd was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Annie Mae Donnan Scott. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and had lived in New Ellenton since 1970 where she taught 1st grade at Greendale Elementary School until her retirement in 1990. After retiring from teaching, Mrs. Boyd volunteered at the Aiken County Pre-Release Center teaching reading and writing. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Boyd was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton. She was a devoted mother and a faithful servant of God. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Edgar and husband Scott, Grandview, MO; sons, John Scott Boyd and Hugh James Boyd, Jr. and wife Angie of North Augusta; grandchildren, Theresa Hicks (Will) and Donnan Morris; step-grandchildren, Ben Scott and wife Dee Dee, Bill Scott and wife Amanda and Kelli Willoughby; great-grandchildren, Robert, Rebecca, Brooke, Stephen, Tristan, Will, Laura, C. J., Addison, Taylor and Jordan; great-great-granddaughter, Alexandria; brothers, Dr. Thomas P. Scott, JR., Atlanta, GA and Dr. John R. Scott, Greenwood, SC and her special Jack Russell friend, Skipper. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Sarah and a brother, Bill Scott. A memorial service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 26th of September at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home where the Rev. Dr. Pamela Patrick Cole is to officiate. The family is to receive friends beginning at one o'clock prior to the service, and will also receive friends following the service.
