Aiken, SC-Myrtle Stewart Cook Sloan, 90, of Aiken, died Saturday, May 17 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, May 20, at Aiken First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea and Rev. Louie Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Sloan was a lifelong resident of Aiken, a daughter to the late Reverend Noble A. Stewart and Ruby Lee Clecky Stewart. She was a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church. She served as past president of the WMU and was a Sunday School teacher at Shiloh Baptist Church for 50 years.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Hope Barnhill Hawes, Aiken, SC, Michael (Sara) Barnhill, Ridge Spring, SC; Great grandchildren, Sean (Katie) Barnhill, Christopher (Cassie) Barnhill, Nathaniel Barnhill, Nicholas Barnhill, Joshua Hawes, Ariel Hawes; Great-great grandchildren, Kayley Barnhill; sister, Hazel Stewart Seigler, Aiken, SC. She was predeceased in death by her daughter Elizabeth Inez Byars, Frontis Cook, Frank Sloan, four sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Shellhouse Funeral Home.
