AIKEN, SC - BETTY R. HUNTER, 86, widow of Gray R. Hunter, died Wednesday, the 2nd of October 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Winston Salem, NC, Mrs. Hunter was a daughter of the late Dewey S. and Flora Farbee Reich and step-daughter of the late Ethel Martin Reich. She lived in Aiken from 1953 until 1977 before moving to Spartanburg. She retired from J. C. Penney. Mrs. Hunter was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Inman. She moved back to Aiken in 2010 and was a resident of Cumberland Village. Survivors include two sons, Gary P. Hunter (Diane), Frisco, TX, Gregg T. Hunter, Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Judy A. Snipes (Edward), Aiken; a granddaughter, Brae Hunter Williams (Jason); step-grandson, Justin Oden (Gray); great-grandson, David Gray Oden; a sister, Joan Reich Moore and brother, William Reich both of Winston Salem, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Reich and Edward "Buddy" Reich. The funeral service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 5th of October at New Prospect Baptist Church in Inman, SC with interment following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Harris is to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at noon. Memorial contributions may be directed to New Prospect Baptist Church, 9321 SC Hwy 9, Inman, SC 29349.
