John "Jack" Henry Krebs, Jr.

AIKEN – Mr. John Henry “Jack” Krebs, Jr., 80, died Saturday, October 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Ramon Ergle and the Reverend Dr. Chris Masters officiating. Military honors will follow. Interment will be held at a later date. Mr. Krebs was born in New Milford, CT, a son of the late John Henry and Clara Couch Krebs. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Intrepid. He had been a resident of Aiken County since 1968, was a member of the USS Intrepid Society, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He had recently been attending Millbrook Baptist Church. He was an operations manager for Kimberly Clark and retired after more than 40 years. Mr. Krebs enjoyed photography, fishing, gardening and most importantly, his grandkids. He was also a huge Boston Red Sox fan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Ann Relyea Krebs; daughters, Joann Hodges, Evans, GA, Karen (Mike) Harley, Aiken, Susan Carpenter, Aiken; sons, John H. (Michele) Krebs, III, Bobby (Lisa) Krebs, Chris (Stephanie) Krebs, Aiken; grandchildren, Jeremy Krebs, Thomas Johnson, Jr., Jason Hodges, Jayme Hodges, Maison Harley, Brandon Carpenter, Carrie Krebs, Kasey Carpenter, Emilee Carpenter, Jessie Krebs; great grandchildren, Kye Gray, Connor and Austin Krebs; step grandchild, Michael (Elizabeth) Harley, Jr.; step great grandchildren, Max and Davis Harley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at SHELLHOUSE-RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 715 E.
