AIKEN, SC - RUBY LEE WATKINS, 95, widow of Henry Nelson Watkins, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home.
A native of Maryville, TN., Mrs. Watkins was a daughter of the late Sherman and Winnie Lee McCully Tyler. Mrs. Watkins moved to Aiken in 1952 and was a former owner of Watkin's Grocery in New Ellenton, SC and a member of Talatha Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Arvel Bernard Watkins (Jackie), Anderson, SC and Billy Watkins (Janice), Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Rodney Watkins, Regina Timms, Mitch Watkins, and April Ramos; six great-grandchildren, Michael Ramos, Madison Watkins, Julia Alvarez, Camron Watkins, Steven and Bobby Timms; a sister, Agnes Strickland, Maryville, TN and a brother, Johnny Tyler, Maryville, TN.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 12:00 at Talatha Baptist Church. The Reverends Kevin Carter and David Little will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
