Barbara Dowis Hart

AIKEN – Barbara Ann Dowis Hart, 75, of Aiken, beloved wife of the late Charles Davis Hart, Jr., died Thursday May 29, 2008 at Shadow Oaks Nursing Home. Mrs. Hart was born in Anderson County, SC, to the late Walter M. and Tencie Lee Kinsey Dowis. She was a former secretary for First Baptist Church of Jackson for 25 years and later Warrenville Baptist Church. She attended Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors include her beloved daughter Patti H. (Tom) Bracco of Aiken, her two grandsons Jeremy Bracco and Jonathan Bracco, one great-grandchild Landen Bracco, and her sister Elizabeth Higginbotham of Anderson, SC. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Monday, June 2, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anderson, SC with the Reverend Donald Lumpkin officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Stephenson, Mike Stephenson, Tim Stephenson, Ken Higginbotham, Jimmy Dowis, and Ray Dowis, Jr. Visitation will be Sunday from 5PM- 7PM at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC. Family and friends may call at the residence of her daughter. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
