AIKEN, SC – ALEXANDRA ROMANCHUK, 91, died Thursday the 31st of October 2013 at her residence in Aiken.
A native of Poland, Mrs. Romanchuk was a daughter of the late Roman and Palagia Prostak. She was displaced into forced labor by the Germans during World War II. It was during this time in Germany that she met and married her husband, Michael. Their daughter Lydia was born in Germany before the family immigrated to America in 1949. Alexandra and Michael lived in Bayonne, NJ before retiring to St. Petersburg, FL. She moved to Aiken in 2007 to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Surviving, in addition to her husband Michael in St. Petersburg, FL, include her daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Michael Kleiman and a grandson, Michael Paul Kleiman, all of Aiken.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at their residence in Cedar Creek on Tuesday the 5th of November from 2 until 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
