AIKEN – William Thomas Robinson Sr., MD, 74, entered into his final resting place on November 2, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Born April 12, 1939 in Laurel, Mississippi, Dr. Robinson spent his early life in the Mississippi delta. He enjoyed participating in varsity baseball and golf until graduating from Drew High School. He went on to attend the University of Mississippi for both undergraduate and doctorate degrees. Dr. Robinson served in the United States Navy from 1961-1967. He served in the Submarine Corp. on the USS Woodrow Wilson as a commissioned medical officer. He completed his residency for General Surgery at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Robinson has practiced medicine in areas including Mississippi, Aiken, SC, and Bluffton, SC since 1965.
A loving husband, father, and avid fan of Ole Miss football, Dr. Robinson is survived by his wife Sally Hale Robinson and children Tommy (wife-Ann) and Bobby (wife-Lisa) Robinson, Dr. Cissy (husband- Stevie) Dement, Elizabeth Hale; and Chuck (wife- Jan) Robinson; grandchildren, Lauren, Carole Ann (husband-David), Michael, Andrew, Bobby, Cade and Jolie Bey; great granddaughter Evelyn; and brother George R. Robinson, MD (wife-Elizabeth).
Dr. Robinson is preceded in death by his father Thomas Albert Robinson, MD and his mother Euzede Celeste Robinson.
