AIKEN - Edward Eugene Looney, 83, beloved husband of Barbara Looney, entered into rest Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Mr. Looney was a native of Odessa, MO. Proudly serving in the United States Air Force for 20 years, Mr. Looney was stationed in the US, Japan, and Korea, and received the medal of Military Merit. After retiring from the Air Force he went to work as a computer specialist with Control Data, Transco Pipeline, and Prime Computers. He was active in several Presbyterian churches, serving as an elder, youth adviser, and treasurer. He also volunteered with the ambulance service in Hilltop Lakes, TX. Mr. Looney was a Lions Club member and received the Jack Wiech Fellow award for his work with the Texas Lions Camp for children. In addition to his wife of 59 years, survivors include a daughter, Janet Baker, Chillicothe, MO; two sons Ross Looney, Friendswood, TX, Brian Looney, Aiken, SC; and five grandchildren, Tamara Looney, Shannon Looney, Brandon Looney, Audrey Looney, and Mary Ann Slattery.
