Roger B. Jackson

AIKEN, SC- ROGER BRUCE JACKSON, 66, beloved husband of Jerri Lynn Jackson, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Roger was born in Seneca, South Carolina, a son of the late Fletcher and Annie Ruth Jackson. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Roger had made Aiken his life-long home and retired as a cable repairman from Bell South. He was an avid Gamecock fan, enjoyed music, and loved hearing his wife's singing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Jerri Lynn Swearingen Jackson; two daughters, Ronda Jackson and Theresa (Mitch) Hutto, both of Graniteville, SC; a step-son, David Earl Swearingen, Homerville, GA; five grandchildren, Lunden Hutto, Swade Hutto, Jacobe, Swearingen, Daulton Swearingen and Logan Swearingen.; a sister, Sharon Jackson (Tom) Johnson , Aiken, SC; three brothers, Donald Fletcher (Sandra) Jackson, Ricky James (Shirley) Jackson, and Michael David (Cheryl) Jackson, all of Aiken, SC; many nieces, nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Taylor Wells and Jody Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Woody Gregory, Jim Cushman, David Icenhour, Jimmy Splawn, Lynn Sally, and Richard Elders. Honorary Pallbearers will be Southern Bell, Bell South and AT & T co-workers both Active and Retired. Memorial contributions may be directed to Shiloh Baptist Church, 3925 Shiloh Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29805.
