Sally Josephine Gilliam

AIKEN, SC - Sally Haile Gilliam, 88 died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Columbia, SC, Mrs. Gilliam was a daughter of the late Clarence Neil and Lessie Hammond Haile. She was a retired stenographer for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She spent most of her life in Columbia, SC until recently when she moved to Aiken. Mrs. Gilliam was a member of Bethel Independent Bible Church in Lexington, SC. Survivors include a sister, Dodie Haile Lee of Aiken and a brother, Clarence Neil Haile, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilliam was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gilliam and five sisters: Clarise Beard of Columbia, Marjorie Haile of Orangeburg, Alma Reger of Columbia, Ruby Seay of Wagener and Irene Vanmansart of Columbia. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Johathan Kammerer officiating.
