Violet B. Schroder

AIKEN, SC - Violet Mary Bernier Schroder, 83, of Aiken and Westminster, South Carolina, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at the Pepper Hill Nursing Home. She was born, October 10, 1930, in New Orleans, LA to Victor and Violet Bernier. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in Education. While in Aiken, she was a third grade teacher at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School, for 20 years. She was a former communicate of St. Mary of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca. Violet was active in various women’s clubs and associations while residing in Aiken and Westminster. She was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Clark (Mal) Schroder. She is survived by her siblings Vic (Starr) Bernier, Robert, LA; Vette (Dean) McKee, Baton Rouge, LA; Mike (Linda) Bernier, Suwanee, GA; Virginia (Henry) Thiele, Bloomfield Hills, MI; and Bill (Carol) Bernier, Calabash, NC. She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Marsha) Schroder, Conway, SC; Ted (Liza) Schroder, Peachtree City, GA; and Ron (Donna) Schroder, Aiken, SC. Her nine grandchildren, Lora, Patrick, Melissa, Michelle, Michael, Lee, Kristen, Eric and Breanna, and 5 great-grandchildren survive her. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca, SC on Saturday, December 7 at 2 PM.
