Jack Barton

AIKEN – Mr. Jack Barton, 72, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. A memorial service with Air Force Military Honors will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Davis Barton officiating and Cathy Cundiff reading scripture. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Born in Montmorenci, SC to the late Henry and Corie Rutland Barton, Jack was a lifelong resident of Aiken. He worked as a welding inspector for EI DuPont, Bechtel, and SRP. Jack was a member of the National Rifle Assoc., and the Bass Assoc., of America. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. Jack was happiest while fishing. Jack is survived by his former wife, Maxine Barton; an Aunt, Mildred Barton, Aiken; Nieces, Cathy (Phil) Cundiff, Cheshire, CT, Diane Leonardi, East Haven, CT, Ellen (Paul) Marini, Orange, CT, Melissa Barton, Warrenville, SC; best friend and cousin, Rev. Davis (Jeanette) Barton, Aiken, SC; cousins, Glenn Kirkland, New Holland, SC, Jeanette (Bob) Taylor, Sarah Barton, Aiken, and Ann (Bruce) Hannon, Wilmington, NC. He was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Barton; a sister, Eleanor Leonardi and a brother, Henry Donald Barton. Memorials in Jack’s name may be directed to Aiken Community Church, P.O.
