Shirley Ann Hartman Day

AIKEN – Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Hartman Day, of Aiken, will be held Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Aiken. Rev. Cathy Cole will officiate. Friends may visit the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00 AM and also following the service. Interment will be Monday, June 16 in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, IA. Shirley was born December 24, 1935, in Clinton, IA, daughter of the late Vern Hartman and Henriette Capion Hartman. She graduated from Lyons High School in Clinton in 1954. On October 29, 1954 she married Robert E. Day of Clinton. They lived in the Clinton area until 1989 and then in Muscatine, IA before settling in Aiken in 1997. Along with her husband, she is survived by their son Robert Day, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cynthia Day, Lexington, KY, and her sister Bonnie Hartman, Clinton, IA. Shirley was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Aiken, and a beloved member of the Houndslake Garden Club and 9-Hole Golf Association.
