Aiken – Stancel Delano Cook went to meet Jesus on Saturday, December 07, 2013. Delano was a lifelong resident of Aiken, born to Stancel & Nellie Cook and residing in New Holland up until the last few years of his life, which were spent with his daughters and their families. Delano, a retired Subcontractor with the U.S. Postal Service, is survived by his four children; Tina (Keith) Harp, Aiken; Joyce (Roger) Pennington, Aiken; Rickey (Jennifer) Cook, Trenton and Steve (Sandra) Cook, Gaston. He had six grandchildren; Nikki Harp, Aiken; Nicole Hill, Jacksonville, NC; Justin Cook, Castlerock, CO, Chessney Cowart, Aiken; Logan Pennington, Aiken; and R.J. Cook, Trenton. Delano also had two great grandchildren; Hailey Spondike and Kylar Hill. Delano, was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cook and his grandson, Joshua Harp. Pallbearers will be Logan Pennington, R.J. Cook, Troy Cowart, Jeffery Brubaker, Justin Cook and Chuck Tinsley. Visitation will be at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home on Monday, December 09, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Services will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel, with internment directly following at the Rocky Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made in memory of Delano to the Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2220 Woodside Executive Ct. Building C, Aiken, SC 29803-3811.
