AIKEN, SC- LOREN DALE FAIR, 84, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Johns United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. George K. Howle officiating. The family will receive friends in Ward Hall following the service.
Mr. Fair was born in Globe, AZ, a son of the late Ernest Ray and Lois Wantland Fair. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was deployed twice during the conflict. After moving to Aiken in 1953, he worked as a senior supervisor for EI DuPont at SRP. Mr. Fair was a longtime member of Palmetto Golf Club and the Aiken Assembly. He was also a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for 57 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melba Hoover Fair; a daughter, Sarah Fair (David) Lutkenhoff, Grand Haven, MI; a son, Christopher (Carol) Fair, Aiken; four grandchildren, James Michael Fair, Mark Adam Fair, Emily Lutkenhoff (Michael) Nail, John David Lutkenhoff; and two great grandchildren, Alanah Fair Murphy and Chase Michael Fair.
Mr. Fair was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Wilson and a brother, Ernest Ray Fair, Jr.
