NEW ELLENTON—Mr. James “Eddie” Goodman, 47, transitioned from this life to be with Jesus December 31, 2013 at his residence, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday, after which funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the St. Paul United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center in New Ellenton. The Reverend Bruce Fox and the Reverend Jackie Connley will officiate. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie McDonald, Ron Doyle, Scott King, Bobby Curtis, Lonnie Reeder, Oliver Williamson and Mark Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Armstrong and Doc Odle.
Eddie was born in Augusta and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a Salesman for over 20 years at Goodman Chevrolet in New Ellenton before starting his own Landscaping business, Yardco. He enjoyed Fishing, hunting and collecting antiques and flea market shopping. He played and sang in several different local bands in years past.
He is survived by his children, Sawyer Alexandria Goodman, Aiken, Sterling James Goodman, Evans, GA., Griffin Chandler Goodman, Aiken; his parents, Charles (Minnie) Goodman,Sr.,Aiken and DiAnn (Wallace) Cassels, N.Augusta; a sister, Sandee (Joey) Greene, Jackson; two brothers, Charles (Jennifer)Goodman, Jr., Aiken, Kevin Liles, Aiken: a very special friend, Jimmie Busbee, Beech Island.
