January 27, 1928 — December 24, 2013

AIKEN, SC – DORINE M. KEEVER, 85, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, the 24th of December 2013 following an extended illness. A native of Vesta, Nebraska, Dorine was a daughter of the late John G. and Anna Harms Laug. She was first married to the late Frederick Duensing and then to the late Bob Keever. She was, also, predeceased by her son, Steven (Lynn) of Waipahu, HI. Dorine retired from Mervyns Department Store (Target) in 2004 and moved to Aiken in September of that year from Ft. Worth, TX. She was very proud of her Presidential (George W. Bush) Award for volunteer service of almost 1,500 hours at the Aiken Habitat for Humanity Restore. She was a member of Charles Wesley United Methodist Church and an avid gardener. Survivors include son, Larry Duensing and his wife Dorra of San Diego, CA; her twin sister, Doris Reed, Aiken; grandchildren, Jaimie and Laura Duensing of San Diego and Stephanie Duensing of Hawaii; nieces Coleen Reed, Aiken and Emily Reed, Montmorenci; nephews, Randall Reed (Debbie) Montmorenci, Les Reed (Miriam) Birmingham, AL and David Kangas, Aiken. A memorial service will be held on Friday the 24th of January 2014 at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home on Pine Log Rd. at 2 pm. The Reverend Jim Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The family is extremely grateful to Aiken County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Creed and Regency Hospice for their most excellent care.
