Michael Piemonte

AIKEN, SC – MICHAEL PIEMONTE, 84, beloved husband of Peggy L. Piemonte, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his residence. A native of Yonkers, NY, Michael was the son of the late Michael, Sr. and Grace (Flower) Piemonte. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. After the war, he earned his MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Michael was an executive with American Express in New York City until his retirement in 1989. He and Peggy then lived in Rhode Island, where he served on the faculty at the University of Rhode Island. They moved to Aiken in 2006. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Michael (Janie) Piemonte, Alexandria, VA, Steven (Candace) Piemonte, Morganville, NJ; two grandchildren, Rachel and Christopher Piemonte. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Larry Parker will officiate.
