Josephine P. McBroom

AIKEN – Mrs. Josephine Boyce McBroom, 103, died Monday, January 13, 2014 in Edgefield, SC. Born in Sewanee, TN on June 5, 1910, to Benjamin Harris and Marie Sherwood Boyce, Mrs. McBroom lived most of her life in Chattanooga, TN. She moved to South Carolina in 1990 to spend her last years with her family in Aiken. Josephine was the Executive Secretary for the Chattanooga Area Heart Association for 23 years and a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, where she headed the Altar Guild for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Scott McBroom. Mrs. McBroom is survived by her children Barbara Trotti of Aiken, and Scott McBroom of Monetta, SC. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Catherine MacBroom (Mark Roberts) of Aiken, Sara Rainsford (John) of Edgefield, SC; great grandchildren Andrew Meek (Emilee) of Aiken and Rachel Meek of Charleston, SC. No services are planned for Aiken, and Mrs. McBroom will be taken to Chattanooga for services at Christ Church and burial in the church cemetery with her husband and his family.
