Betty Sanders D'Alessio

AIKEN – Betty Sanders D’Alessio, 78, of Aiken, beloved wife of Thomas D’Alessio, died Tuesday June 24, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Mrs. D’Alessio was born in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late James Cauley and Daisy Bell Carter Sanders. She had worked as a secretary for the law firm of Smith Field Ringle Martin & Lowe in Atlanta for a number of years before going to work for 17 years with her husbands law firm, Levine & D’Alessio, also in Atlanta. She had lived in Aiken since 1999. Survivors in addition to her husband Thomas, include two sons Greg (Gretchen) Burns of Cumming, GA and Ron (Debbie) Burns of Atlanta, GA, step-daughter Emily (J.R.) Zimmatore of Worcester, MA, step-son Dr. Thomas L. (Marie) D’Alessio of Winston Salem, NC, four grandchildren Robert (Missy) Burns, of Watertown, NY, Lindsey (Dustin) Thomas of Hampton, VA, Jason (Brandy) Burns of Atlanta, GA, and Jeff Burns of Cumming, GA, a step granddaughter Claire E. D’Alessio, three great-grandchildren Daniel Burns, Mikhael Burns and Ryan Burns. She is preceded in death by her son Pat Burns and her grandson Daniel Burns. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 PM to 8PM at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 28, at Sawnee View Cemetery in Cumming, GA.
