AIKEN, SC – MARY ANN PARMELEE, 70, beloved wife of Thomas W. Parmelee, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Georgia Regents University Medical Center, Augusta, GA.
A native of Grand Rapids, MI, Mary was a daughter of the late Eiso L. and Pauline Wagner Bruggema. Mary was a well-known teacher, trainer and clinician in the equestrian community with clients ranging from the mid-west to Florida. She had made Aiken, SC her home since 1988 where she and her husband owned Chessman Farm. Mary enjoyed teaching out of Highfields Event Center the last several years, especially working with her granddaughters and other young riders.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Tom, include two sons, Rick (Cathy) Cram, Aiken, SC and Brent (Susan) Cowan, Hastings, MI; four grandchildren, Megan and Austin Cowan, Celia and Elizabeth Cram.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Highfields Event Center.
