Daniel Craven

AIKEN, SC- DAN CRAVEN, JR., 78, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Aiken, SC.Dan was born on March 25, 1935, in Asheboro, NC. A long time resident of Pleasant, NC, Dan was the son of the late Dan Craven, Sr. and Ethel Mae Jarrett Craven. Dan graduated from Randleman High School in 1953. He was very active throughout the years with the class reunion and enjoyed the companionship and fellowship with the graduating class. A veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam, he set up the civil communications used throughout the war. He owned a construction company that remodeled and built restaurants throughout the east coast.Throughout his life, he was a real car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring classic and vintage automobiles. This was a hobby he extremely enjoyed . He also enjoyed the outdoors, was a hard worker, and was admired throughout the community of Pleasant Garden.He is survived by his 2 daughters, Norma Elizabeth Craven, Aiken, SC and Catherine Ann Craven of Cleveland, SC; a brother, Charles Craven of Arcida, FL. He was preceded in death by Martha Kinsey.Services were private.
