AIKEN – Mr. William David Culler, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 13 in Graniteville Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Ray Litts officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Culler was born in Union, SC, a son of the late Isadore and Kathleen Betsill Culler. He attended The Citadel, and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1949. He served in the US Army in Korea and Germany, and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. He was a co-founder of Culler-Jackson Furniture Stores, with locations in SC and FL. He was a founding member of Midland Valley Country Club, a former Mason, and a former member of the Rotary Club. He was also a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Converse Culler; two daughters, Nancy C. (Gordon) Courtney, Aiken, Susan C. (Henry) Dingle, Lexington; a son, Sherman (Betsy) Culler, Graniteville; six grandchildren, Trey Courtney, David Courtney, Sherman Culler, Jr., Katie Culler, Evan Dingle, Kelly Dingle; five great granddaughters; a sister, Betty (Rhett) Jackson, Columbia. In addition to his parents, Mr. Culler was preceded in death by a son, David Culler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O.
