AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Carol Anne Pizio (Taylor), wife of Roger Paul Pizio, entered into rest Saturday, March 29, 2014. Born in Fall River, Mass on July 24, 1945 she was the daughter of Noman Taylor (deceased) and Emma I Taylor (Hambly) of Aiken, SC. Educated in schools in Tiverton, RI and Fall River, MA she received her bachelor’s degree from Salve Regina College in Newport, RI in 1988. Carol retired from NAVSEA, Warfare Center at the Newport Navy Base in Newport, RI on November 2, 2005. She is survived by her husband Roger of 46 years; sons Scott Andrew Pizio of Fall River, MA, David Norman Pizio and Paula Souza of Fall River, MA, and a daughter Amy Lynn Moore (Pizio) and her Husband Todd Moore of Aiken, SC. She is also survived by a brother William N Taylor and his wife Sheila of Somerset, MA; two granddaughters Kaitlyn Pizio of Fall River, MA and Maycie Moore of Aiken, SC in addition Nancy and Jim McMullen of Dennisport, MA several cousins, nieces and nephews. A long time resident of Tiverton, RI she moved to Aiken, SC with her husband in January 2006. While in Tiverton she attended Central Baptist Church, holding the position of Sunday School Director and Teacher. During her leisure time she enjoyed the hobby of genealogy tracing her family back to the 1600’s. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with her granddaughters. Funeral Service will be at St Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken, Thursday, April 3rd at 3:00 PM, followed by interment at St Thaddeus Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Stevenson-McClelland Building following the service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mead Hall Episcopal School; Aiken SC.
