Melissa O'Brien

AIKEN -- Lisa O'Brien, 54, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her parents' residence.Born in Rhode Island on November 15, 1959, she was the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Pons.  Lisa fell in love with the theater in college and pursued this passion wherever it took her, from New York, to California, to Florida.  Her last performance before being diagnosed with cancer was a starring role in a community playhouse production called "The Red Velvet Cupcake Wars," for which she received rave reviews. She is survived by three sisters, Phyllis and Mark Berlacher of Charlotte, NC, Marlene and Mike Tiernan of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Angela and Walter Clifford of Aiken.  She also is survived by six nieces and nephews, Thomas and Emory Berlacher, Evelyn and Lydia Accardi, and Margaret and Quinn Clifford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be private.
