AIKEN – Mr. Edwin “Doc” Hirt, June 16, 1949 – July 30, 2008, passed on in Aiken South Carolina from an unexpected health complication, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008. He is survived by a son, Brian Eric Hirt and by Debby McFerrin, his beloved companion of six years, and his many friends spread across the nation who knew him as a charming poet, musician, witty conversationalist, with many diverse hobbies and interests.
