WILLISTON – Joseph “Joey” O’Neal Merritt, 35, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Evans, GA. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Monday with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel, Hayne Ave. with the Reverend Neal Flowers officiating. Joey was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. He worked many years in the food and beverage industry. He is survived by his parents, Deborah Hiers (Donald) Hodgkins, Williston, Walter David Rankin, Savannah, GA; paternal grandmother, Ellie Tardif, Savannah; sister, Holley Merritt (Brian) Lovett, Graniteville; brothers, Derek Wilsey, Ft.
