AIKEN, SC – ELIZABETH BURCKHALTER WALTON, 95, widow of Frank Ray Walton, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Calhoun Falls.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Lib was the last surviving child of the late John Andrew and Mable Favor Burckhalter. She was a caterer for many years in Aiken. Lib was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the ball club. She was also a member of Pairs & Spares.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Walton (Ray) Williams, Calhoun Falls, SC, Nancy Walton (Jose’) Perez, Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Leslie Lee Williams Tilley, Frank Allen Walton, Heather Williams Poulson, Virna Perez Fender, Tiffany Williams Parsons, David R. Williams, Bradley A. Perez; twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Lib was preceded in death by her siblings, Ernest Burckhalter, Sr., Anna Belle Sassatelli, John Burckhalter, Henry Burckhalter and Minnie L. McKenna.
The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the graveside in Historic Bethany Cemetery with The Rev. Steve Gillette officiating.
