Sarah Holland Botkins

AIKEN – Mrs. Sarah Holland Botkins, 81, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Am Saturday at Millbrook Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Houston Brown, Clair Henkes, Billy Pierce, Tom McLellan, Philip Lyell, Harry Harmon and Owen Heyward. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Merritt, Virgil Stone, John Longshore, Odell Eubanks, Al Collie, Wallis Bland, Clifton Weeks, H. O. “Spooky” Weeks, Tom Weeks and Eric Carlson. Mrs. Botkins was born in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Grady and Estelle Wertz Holland. She was a resident of Aiken since 1955. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. She was an alumnus of USC, a charter member of the Cereus Garden Club and the Aiken Choral Society. Survivors include her beloved husband, Henry A. Botkins, Sr.; a son, Henry Al (Lou Ree) Botkins, Jr,, Adairsville, GA; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Christopher Botkins.
