Clyde Marion Ergle

AIKEN – Mr. Clyde Marion Ergle, 77. died Thursday, August 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church. Reverend Brancie Stephens will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Ergle was born in Monetta, SC, a son of the late John B. and Maggie Mae Jordan Ergle. He was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved wife, Patsy Clara Slade Ergle; three daughters, Martha (Byron) Haynes, Aiken, Clara Elizabeth Hall, Aiken, Janice Marie Ergle, Trenton; a son, Marion Vernon (Janet) Ergle, Aiken; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Ramon E. Ergle and Steve C. Ergle, both of Aiken. Mr. Ergle was preceded in death by his siblings, LaRue McGee, John M. Ergle, Albert Ergle, Callie Mae Ergle, and by a grandchild, Rachel Haynes.
