James Morris Morgan

AIKEN, SC- JAMES “ JIM” MORRIS MORGAN, 85, beloved husband of Ruth Elizabeth “Betty” Morgan, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at his residence. Born in Pierce County, Georgia, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Ephrim Frank Morgan and Molly Bennett Morgan. He was a resident of Aiken for over 61 years and retired from E. I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant as a Power Operator after many years of service. He was a 32 Degree Mason with the Aiken Masonic Lodge #156 AFM and a member of the Scottish Rite and Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two daughters, Marsha Elizabeth (Phillip) Jones, Augusta, GA and Carol Elaine Morgan (Jerry Collins), Savannah, GA; three grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Collins, Patrick C. Collins, both of Savannah, GA, and Anna Palmer Jones, Augusta, GA; two sisters, Willene Morgan Lee, Patterson, GA and Mary Love (Frank) Ruffner, Brunswick, GA. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3 PM in Memorial Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class and the nurses of Professional Case Management.
