Aiken – Doris Wood Simons Hinson, 89, died August 23, 2008, at Heartland Hospice, Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Tuesday at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Marion Britton officiating. Mrs. Hinson was born in Edgefield, SC, and lived in Aiken for 70 years. Mrs. Hinson was employed by Graniteville Co. and she was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken. Survivors include her husband, Wade E. Hinson, Aiken, SC, one daughter; Beverly McElwee, West Columbia, SC, one son; Michael Simons, Greensboro, NC, Four grandchildren; Robin Arthurs, Kimberly Wisnet, Darell McElwee, Scott McElwee, Four Great-grand children, and Eight Great-great grandchildren.
