AIKEN, SC – JOHN PHILLIP BOATWRIGHT, 52, died Monday, July 14, 2014 at his residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, John was a son of the late James Burness, Jr. and Eunice Enoree Bentley Boatwright. He was an avid guitarist, was of the Baptist faith and loved his cat Taz.
Survivors include his sister, Eleanor B. (Mickey) Whisnant, Wagener, SC; nieces and nephews, Kevin Mabli, Mark (Cecelia) Day, Debra Day (Chris) Oehlberg, Lisa Day (Roy) Parrish, Tim (Lindsay) Whisnant, Amanda Whisnant, Laura Whisnant, Robert Tucker, Phillip Tucker; brother-in-law, Charles Day, Aiken. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Day, Patricia Tucker, Nancy Boatwright and a brother, James E. Boatwright.
A Celebration of John’s life will take place Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2014 at 3 o’clock at Clearwater Branch Baptist Church, with The Rev. David Harper officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, immediately following the celebration.
