Mary Claire O'Rourke

AIKEN, SC – MARY CLAIRE O’ROURKE, 57, beloved wife of Ernest Levinson, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her residence. Born in Amsterdam, NY, Mary was a daughter of the late Jane E. O’Rourke. She grew up in Gloversville, NY and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Beloit College and her JD degree from the University Of Florida College Of Law. Mary worked as a legal aid attorney in Gainesville, FL prior to her marriage to Ernie 6 years ago when she moved to Aiken. She was a member of Adath Yeshurun Synagogue in Aiken. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Margaret Luther, Manhattan, NY; brothers, Mark (Trish) Vogelgesong, Sandy Springs, GA, Michael Vogelgesong, River Forest, IL; step-daughter, Rachael Levinson (Brent) Graeber, Chicago, IL; step-son, Ira (Emilie) Levinson, Minneapolis, MN. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at Adath Yeshurun Synagogue with Sharon Preston officiating.
