AIKEN - Mrs. Barbara Hodson Bass passed away, Monday, September 1, 2014 at her Aiken residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, September 5, 2014 at The First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Brian Coulter and Reverend Holly Schoaf-O’Kula officiating. Internment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Bass was born in Norris, SD, a daughter of the late Orville and Emma Waterbury Hodson. She has been a resident of Aiken since 1952. She was active in the community, a charter member of Town and Country Club, member of the Aiken Historical Society and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 171. She enjoyed playing bridge and her water aerobics classes.
Survivors include three daughters, Joanne (Walter) Brown of Kingstree, SC, Dawn (Jim) Carr of Lexington, SC, Janet L. Bass of Aiken, SC, six grandchildren, Rich (Paige) Brown, Mark (Beth) Brown, Ryan (Anna) Brown, Patrick (Starr) Carr, Brian Carr, and Justin Price, six great grandchildren, Allie Louise Brown, Mac Brown, Alex Brown, Henry Brown, Eli Brown and J.P. Carr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard James Bass.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons of SC and Matthew Yon, representing Justin Price of Prague, Czech Republic.
