AIKEN, SC – ELIZABETH CHAMBERS GANTT, 75, widow of Charles Marion Gantt, Sr., died Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Edgefield County, Elizabeth was a daughter of Charles Edward and Helen Louise Nicholson Chambers. She had lived in Aiken since 1957 and retired from Graniteville Company.
Survivors include five children, Charles M. Gantt, Jr., Aiken, Catherine (Franklin) Lindler, Batesburg-Leesville, SC, Gwendolyn (Dwight) Wooley, Johnston, SC, Tina (Kevin) Barron, Aiken and Sharon Vibbert, Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren, Beverly (D. J.) Barr, Heather Lindler, Kimberly Lindler, Ashley (Taylor) Knock, Katelynn Wooley, Amanda Barron, Kassandra Barron, Jeff Gantt, Brandon Gantt, Kelley Gantt, Christopher Gantt, Braxton Cooley and Rebecca Vibbert; 5 great-grandchildren, Ethan Barr, Garrett Barr, Bentley Vibbert, Laiken Brock and Gabriel Knock; a brother, Kenneth Edward Chambers, Ward, SC.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon beginning at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 3 o’clock. The Rev. Mark Brenholt will officiate. Private interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
